What are the advantages of undergoing Keratin treatment?

 

Keratin is a protein that is naturally present in your hair. It works as the primary building block of the hair. With age, heat styling, usage of chemical shampoos and excessive exposure to sun, the keratin protein in the hair is often lost. The treatment adds shine to the hair without disrupting its texture.

Treatment procedure: The hair should be first washed and then it should be blown dry in order to remove all the left over moisture, then spread the keratin solution all over hair and leave it for sometime so that the hair is set. The hair should be washed again and then blown dry the hair followed by a flat iron so as to help seal the solution. After a period of time the keratin will break down and the hair would attain its natural look. The entire process aims to reintroduces the keratin into the hair strands by adding protein to it.


 

Keratin treatment does not have any known side-effects, but in rare cases one can experience nausea, throat infection mild irritation of eyes and skin sensitivity. In few cases the hair can be slightly discoloured after the effects of ironing.

After treatment do not wash your hair for at least 4 days. If you have to compulsorily wash your hair then opt of a sulphate free shampoo.  The result of the treatment lasts up to 6 months.  Pregnant women should strictly not undergo this treatment.
